Somatic Therapy & Healthy Boundaries | Listening to Your Yes and No
Learning how to recognize your inner yes, no, and “I don’t know, I need more time” is one of the most important skills for building healthy boundaries and secure relationships.
In somatic therapy and attachment-based therapy, this skill is central to emotional regulation, self-trust, and relational safety.
Many people struggle with boundaries- not because they don’t care about others and not because they don’t care about themselves, but because they learned early in life to disconnect from themselves in order to stay connected. They learned that being accommodating, agreeable, or “easygoing” was safer than being honest about their needs.
